Become a Member of Lower Park Farm Co-operative

We are delighted to present an opportunity to participate in Lower Park Farm Co-operative, the UK’s first Anaerobic Digestion facility to obtain co-operative status.

Lower Park Farm Co-operative was set up to establish a sustainable, environmentally friendly and economically attractive alternative to our reliance on fossil fuel resources. Our mission is to enable both the farm and the local community to benefit from large-scale renewable energy generation, in a way that does not impact on the rural landscape. The selected co-operative structure puts communities back in touch with agriculture and sustainable energy for the benefit of all those concerned.

We want to harness the power of the organic waste produced at Lower Park Farm in order to generate clean, green renewable energy using a sustainable financial model. The Anaerobic Digestion process that we have selected will allow us to do just that. Planning permission to build an Anaerobic Digestion facility at Lower Park Farm has been granted, and now we need your help to turn our plans into action. By joining Lower Park Farm Co-operative, you will be instrumental in the building and success of this ambitious project.

Invest in local renewable energy

and earn 8% interest on your investment

Lower Park Farm Co-operative is offering a pioneering opportunity for you to purchase shares in the UK’s first community-based renewable energy project involving a dedicated on-farm Anaerobic Digestion (AD) biogas facility.

Lower Park Farm Co-operative will operate a 240kW AD plant which will process the slurry and manure from its 650 strong herd of Brown Swiss and Norwegian Red crossbreed dairy cattle. The AD plant will produce electricity and heat for which the Co-operative will receive UK Government incentive payments guaranteed for the next 20 years. Projected revenue from government subsidies, as well as supplying surplus energy to Lower Park Farm, nearby buildings and the National Grid, will generate a generous return for our members.

This project will only be possible with the support
and commitment of you, our members
